iEmpathize Walk/Run 5k
Towards the end of April Cru hosted a 5k Walk/Run on campus at KU. Our Community Outreach team did a great job organizing, planning, and recruiting for the event to make it a huge success and raise money for iEmpathize. iEmpathize is an international organization that works to abolish child sex trafficking and exploitation. Child trafficking is when children are recruited through force, deception or kidnapping, and transported within their country or across borders in order to be exploited. United Nations Children’s Fund estimates that the number of children affected each year is around 1.2 million. The estimated total market value of illicit human trafficking is $32 billion.
